Preparing for your hotel stay
How do I book a hotel room that meets my accessibility needs?
Hotwire is committed to making sure our customers have accessible accommodations while traveling. To help you find a hotel that can meet your needs, you can filter your hotel search results and review your hotel amenities with these accessibility options.
º Accessible for the deaf with a TTY for the telephone, visual or flashing fire alarm, and a vibrating alarm clock.
º Accessible for the blind with Braille or raised signage.
º Accessible paths of travel with a flat or ramped path that is at least 36 inches wide to and from the parking lot (if any) to the front desk and from the front desk to some or all of the guest rooms.
º Wheelchair accessible with wheelchair accessible common areas.
º Accessible bathrooms with a hand-held shower, grab bars at the tub, grab bars at the toilet and a raised toilet. Bathrooms with a roll-in shower.
º Accessible parking spaces.
In-room accessibility with
o An accessible path from the room entrance to the window
o An accessible path from the room entrance to at least one side of the bed
o An accessible path from the room entrance to the toilet
o Accessible hardware and minimal resistance to open the door
o Accessible temperature controls
o Accessible window coverings
Follow these steps to filter your hotel search results by accessibility options.
1. Enter your destination and the dates you plan to travel on Hotwire. Click �Find a Hotel�
2. To see only hotels that meet your accessibility needs, find the "Amenities" drop down at the top of your Hotel results.
3. Check the accessibility options that meet your needs. The results will automatically update to show only hotels that feature these options.
4. Select the hotel to view more details.
5. Click "Book now" to start your reservation.
6. While filling in your Traveler information on the Complete your book page, select the �Accessibility options� link. Check the box(es) that meet your needs.
After you book, we'll call the hotel to make sure they have a room available that can meet your needs and send you a confirmation email. If the hotel can't meet them, Hotwire will contact you to make alternate arrangements. If Hotwire is unable to locate alternative accommodations that are acceptable to you, we will refund your original booking price. Hotwire cannot guarantee a room that meets your specific needs will be available.
